What is Iyengar Yoga?

B.K.S. Iyengar was one of the greatest yoga teachers in the world and an internationally renowned figure. Born in 1918, he passed away on August 20, 2014, at the age of 96. He devoted his entire life to the study and teaching of yoga.

He lived in Pune (southern India) where he founded the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in 1975, known worldwide. His children Geeta and Prashant, his niece Abhijata, and a critical mass of highly qualified teachers carry on his teachings.

His works have been translated into several languages and are considered essential classics for studying yoga. His clear and objective teaching style helped decode the discipline across cultures.

Iyengar Yoga Teacher

After several years (1993–2000) of immersion and studies in Rishikesh and Pune (India), Alexis decided to dedicate his life to the practice, study, and teaching of Iyengar Yoga.

He has been a certified teacher since 1997 by the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI), founded by B.K.S. Iyengar in Pune. He was the founding director of the Iyengar Yoga Study Centre in Brussels.

Alexis teaches in Spanish, English, and French.
